HOW THE SERVICE CAN HELP YOU
Rhinoplasty, sometimes called a “nose job,” is any surgical procedure that addresses either aesthetic or functional issues with the framework of the external nose. Common areas addressed during rhinoplasty are nasal tip definition, prominent nasal hump, wide nasal profile, prominent or weak cartilage support, and over/under projection of the nose. Some patients may have breathing difficulties that can be improved with rhinoplasty. Rhinoplasty is a highly tailored procedure that is specific to each patient.
Rhinoplasty can treat:
- Nose size
- Nose width at the bridge
- Nose profile (visible humps or depressions on the bridge)
- Nostril size and position (large, wide, or upturned)
- Nasal tip (enlarged, drooping, upturned, or hooked)
- Nasal asymmetry
- Deviated septum (septoplasty)

ABOUT RHINOPLASTY SURGERY
The first step in the rhinoplasty evaluation is the initial consultation. During your initial consultation, your concerns and goals are discussed. A comprehensive facial analysis is performed by one of our top plastic surgeons, followed by a detailed discussion about the steps needed to achieve the desired results of your nose reshaping, nose reduction, or nose correction.
Once a surgical plan has been established, the next step is the actual surgery. Rhinoplasty procedures are performed on an outpatient basis and last a variable amount of time (typically 2-4 hours) depending on your exact needs. Most of the incisions required for rhinoplasty are well hidden inside the lining of the nose so as to be inconspicuous.
What to Expect After Your Procedure
Your nose job recovery takes place in the comfort of your own home and you will visit your surgeon between 5-7 days after the procedure. Most patients have a splint applied to the nose for the first week of recovery.
Swelling and bruising are common after any facial surgery. Bruising lasts between 7-14 days and swelling can last for several weeks, as well. To minimize swelling, patients are encouraged to sleep slightly elevated for the first week of recovery and minimize strenuous activity.
At the first postoperative visit, all dressings are removed along with any sutures that may have been placed externally.
Over the next several weeks, the final definition of the nose becomes apparent.
WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR RHINOPLASTY?
A nose job may be a good option for you if:
- Your facial growth is complete
- You are physically healthy
- You don’t smoke
- You have a positive outlook and realistic goals in mind for the improvement of your appearance
